Tarmac is still the best value way to surface a big driveway, and around Aldridge, Streetly and Pelsall there are plenty of drives where that matters. With a block paved border it looks a lot smarter than people expect.
We lay a compacted base and a fine top layer, roll it properly and finish the edges cleanly. We can also resurface tired tarmac where the base is still sound. The site visit and written quote are free.

Long and wide drives are where tarmac makes most sense, because the cost per square metre stays low. Shared drives between neighbours are another common job, as long as everyone is on board.
If your current tarmac has gone grey and is starting to break up at the edges, it may only need a new top layer. We will tell you honestly whether that will last or whether it needs starting again.
Tarmac makes the most sense on bigger drives, and around Aldridge, Streetly and Pelsall there are plenty of them, sometimes with a long run from the road or a turning area by the house. Laying that in blocks or resin would cost a good deal more, while a well laid tarmac drive with a block border gives a smart, solid finish for less.
Freshly laid tarmac stays a little soft for the first few weeks, especially in warm weather. It is worth not turning the steering wheel while the car is standing still, and keeping things like trailer jacks and motorbike stands off it until it has hardened. We leave you with simple aftercare notes on the day.
Weeds coming through the edges of an old tarmac drive usually mean the edge was never properly restrained. In Bloxwich, Rushall and Shelfield, where a lot of tarmac drives meet lawns and borders directly, we fix a kerb or a row of blocks along the edge so the tarmac has something to push against and the grass has a clean line to stop at.
If your kerb is not already dropped, you need permission from Walsall Council before you can drive across the pavement in Walsall. It is worth applying early, because approval is not instant. We measure up with the kerb in mind so the driveway lines up with it.
Paving more than five square metres of a front garden needs planning permission from Walsall Council, unless the rainwater drains into a border, a soakaway or a permeable surface on your own property. We plan the drainage on the site visit so your driveway meets the rule.
Near Walsall town centre a lot of houses have no side access, so materials and waste come and go through the front. On the bigger plots in Aldridge and Streetly there is usually room to keep the skip on the drive itself.
We cover all of Walsall, including Bloxwich, Aldridge, Pelsall, Rushall, Streetly, Shelfield and Park Hall. Walsall is about seven miles east of Wolverhampton, so we are never far away. If you are not sure whether we cover your street, call us and we will tell you straight away.
