Tarmac suits the longer drives you find around Codsall, Oaken and Codsall Wood, where covering a big area in blocks or resin would cost a lot more. With a block border and neat edges it looks well kept for years.
We lay a proper base and two layers of tarmac, rolled tight, with edging that holds everything in place. The site visit is free and the price comes in writing.

On a long drive, drainage is worth planning from the start. Channels at the entrance or by the garage, and falls to the edges, stop water sitting on the surface.
Red tarmac is popular here on more traditional homes. Black is the hard wearing standard. We can show you both.
Codsall Wood, Oaken and the edges of Codsall have homes with long drives, gates set back from the road and, in some cases, a drive shared with a neighbour. On that scale, tarmac is often the surface that makes sense on cost, and laid properly it gives a smart, solid drive that copes with cars, delivery vans and the occasional trailer.
On a long drive, water needs managing along its length, not just at the bottom. We set falls to one side, take the water to verges, channels or a soakaway, and stop it building up and running across the surface. Where the drive meets the road, a channel stops your water heading out onto the highway.
In Bilbrook and Perton, drives are usually shorter and more like a town drive, and tarmac with a block border suits them well. If you have mature trees near the drive, we keep an eye on roots when we dig out and adjust the depth or the line where needed, rather than cutting through roots that keep the tree stable.
If your kerb is not already dropped, you need permission from Staffordshire County Council before you can drive across the pavement in Codsall. It is worth applying early, because approval is not instant. We measure up with the kerb in mind so the driveway lines up with it.
Paving more than five square metres of a front garden needs planning permission from South Staffordshire Council, unless the rainwater drains into a border, a soakaway or a permeable surface on your own property. We plan the drainage on the site visit so your driveway meets the rule.
Codsall, Bilbrook and Perton have plenty of established trees, so before we dig we check for roots close to the work and plan the edges around them rather than cutting through.
