Sedgley's slopes are one of the reasons people choose resin. The surface is permeable, so rain drains through rather than running downhill towards the house, and we can add an anti-slip finish where it is steep.
We build or repair the base, fit edging that holds everything in place and lay the resin evenly. You get a free site visit and a fixed price in writing.

On a steep drive we pay close attention to the edges and the base. Resin is strong once it has cured, but it can only be as good as what is underneath it.
Anti-slip grit is a small addition that makes a big difference on a frosty morning, especially on the hilly roads around the Gornals and Cotwall End.
Driveways around Upper Gornal, Lower Gornal and Woodsetton can be steep, and resin is one of the better surfaces for a slope. There are no loose stones to roll downhill, no joints to wash out, and rain soaks through instead of running down to the garage or the front door. On the steepest drives we add a fine anti-slip grit to the surface.
On higher ground, frost and ice can hang around longer than they do lower down. A resin surface that drains properly is less likely to have water sitting on it to freeze, which matters when you are reversing up a hill on a cold morning. We set the base and the edges so the drive holds its shape as the ground freezes and thaws.
Around Cotwall End and Gospel End there are more detached houses with wider fronts and gardens that slope away. There we often lay resin to a level area by the house and use steps or a retaining edge to handle the drop. It keeps the parking flat and the look consistent from the gate to the door.
If your kerb is not already dropped, you need permission from Dudley Council before you can drive across the pavement in Sedgley. It is worth applying early, because approval is not instant. We measure up with the kerb in mind so the driveway lines up with it.
Paving more than five square metres of a front garden needs planning permission from Dudley Council, unless the rainwater drains into a border, a soakaway or a permeable surface on your own property. Resin bound is permeable, so it usually meets that rule on its own.
On Sedgley's hillside plots we look first at where the water goes in heavy rain, because a new hard surface can change where it runs, and the house should never be at the bottom of it.
We cover all of Sedgley, including Upper Gornal, Lower Gornal, Woodsetton, Cotwall End and Gospel End. Sedgley is about four miles south of Wolverhampton, so we are never far away. If you are not sure whether we cover your street, call us and we will tell you straight away.
