Many Dudley gardens are on a slope, which makes them harder to use and harder to keep. Good landscaping can change that, with retaining walls, steps, sleeper beds and level areas that make the garden work.
We plan the levels and the drainage first, then build. The site visit is free, and the price comes in writing.

Terracing a sloping garden with sleeper walls or brick retaining walls gives you flat areas for a lawn, a patio or raised beds.
Water running down a slope needs somewhere to go. We build in drainage so it does not end up against the house or your neighbour's fence.
A sloping garden in Netherton, Gornal or Coseley is often only half used, because the bottom or the top is hard to get to and hard to mow. Breaking the slope into two or three level terraces, each with its own purpose, changes that. A patio by the house, a lawn in the middle and planting or a shed at the top is a layout that works in a lot of Dudley gardens.
Each terrace needs a wall to hold it, and the choice of wall affects both the look and the cost. Timber sleepers are quick and suit informal gardens. Brick or block walls faced to match the house last longer and suit bigger height changes. Every retaining wall gets drainage behind it, because a wall holding back wet soil is under far more pressure than a dry one.
In flatter parts like Kingswinford and Wall Heath, the work is more often about fencing, lawns and borders. A mowing strip of slabs or bricks along the edge of the lawn saves a lot of time with the strimmer, and a gravel board at the foot of the fence keeps the panels off the wet soil.
Garden fences up to two metres high usually do not need planning permission, or up to one metre where they run next to a road. If you are not sure about your garden, Dudley Council can confirm.
Most garden problems start with levels and drainage, so we look at those first. Clearing and taking away the waste from the work we do is part of the job.
Plenty of drives and gardens in Dudley step up or down from the road, so we measure the levels on the visit rather than judging them by eye. A small difference in height decides where the water ends up.
We cover all of Dudley, including Netherton, Kingswinford, Brierley Hill, Gornal, Coseley, Wall Heath and Woodside. Dudley is about six miles south of Wolverhampton, so we are never far away. If you are not sure whether we cover your street, call us and we will tell you straight away.
